Retention Strength of Polyetheretherketone Crowns Vs. Zirconia Crowns Restoring Molar Teeth: An in Vitro Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study was designed to compare the retention strength of monolithic CAD/CAM PEEK crowns that YTZP-zirconia crowns, both resin-cemented epoxy resin dies resembling lower molar teeth; after thermomechanical aging simulating 3 months in-vivo service. Materials and methods: 22 identical dies, preparation a second (4mm height, 6° axial convergence 1 mm-thick deep chamfer finish line), were produced by replicating one master stainless steel die via polyvinyl siloxane impressions. The randomly equally distributed into 2 groups (Zr P groups); 11 each. first (control) group (Zr) received milled Y-TZP zirconia (Katana™ ML), while other (intervention) (breCAM.BioHPP™). Two opposing, laterally projecting (mesial distal) arms included in design all for test. fitting surfaces sandblasted with 110-µm alumina particles.

Fracture resistance of implant- supported monolithic crowns cemented to zirconia hybrid-abutments: zirconia-based crowns vs. lithium disilicate crowns

PURPOSE The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the fracture resistance under chewing simulation of implant-supported posterior restorations (crowns cemented to hybrid-abutments) made of different all-ceramic materials. MATERIALS AND METHODS Monolithic zirconia (MZr) and monolithic lithium disilicate (MLD) crowns for mandibular first molar were fabricated using computer-aided design...

Fracture resistance of monolithic zirconia molar crowns with reduced thickness.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of the present study was to analyze the relationship between fracture load of monolithic zirconia crowns and axial/occlusal thickness and to evaluate the fracture resistance of monolithic zirconia crowns with reduced thickness in comparison with that of monolithic lithium disilicate crowns with regular thickness. MATERIALS AND METHODS Monolithic zirconia crowns (Lava Pl...

Flawless Smile with Zirconia Crowns for Tetracycline Stained Teeth

Tetracycline is one of the teratogenic antibiotics used in various infections affecting both adults and children, has a side effect of staining teeth because of its ability to form a tetracycline calcium orthophosphate complex. It binds with calcium ions and forms this complex at the time of odontogenesis which not only causes a permanent unaesthetic appearance, living behind a huge psychologic...

Fracture Strength of Aged Monolithic and Bilayer Zirconia-Based Crowns

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of design and surface finishing on fracture strength of yttria-tetragonal zirconia polycrystal (Y-TZP) crowns in monolithic (1.5 mm thickness) and bilayer (0.8 mm zirconia coping and 0.7 mm porcelain veneer) configuration after artificial aging. Bovine incisors received crown preparation and Y-TZP crowns were manufactured using CAD/CAM techni...

Preformed metal crowns for decayed primary molar teeth.

BACKGROUND Preformed metal crowns (PMCs) are recommended by the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) for restoring badly broken down primary molar teeth. However, few dental practitioners adopt this technique in clinical practice, citing cost and clinical difficulty as reasons for this. Whilst there is a subjective impression by clinical academics that PMCs provide a more durable rest...
